XR Equipment
The Invention Studio Extended Reality (ISXR) Tool Group, in partnership with the Symbiotic and Augmented Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL), hosts a space in MRDC 3340 with a variety of XR headsets, software, tools, and accessories to empower your creativity and enable the immersive creation and visualization of your prototypes and 3D projects.
XR Headsets
For your virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) needs, we host Meta Quest 2 (4x), Meta Quest 3 (6x), Meta Quest Pro (1x), and Apple Vision Pro (2x) headsets. For your alternate reality (AR) applications, we offer Microsoft HoloLens 2 headsets (13x).
XR Accessories
We accommodate for development and use of more immersive XR experiences through our offering of SenseGlove Nova 2 haptic gloves (2x), Vive 2.0 Base Stations (4x), Vive Tracker 3.0s (6x), Intel D455 RealSense depth cameras (2x), and a Virtuix Omni 360° VR Treadmill.
Computers
To power your XR projects, we provide access to Alienware PCs (2x) equipped with NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs, Alienware Laptops (4x) equipped with RTX 5080 GPUs, and Apple Mac Studio M4 Maxs (2x).
3D Scanners
If you need an object 3D scanned within sub-millimeter accuracy, we host a Revopoint MIRACO Plus structured-light scanner designed for scanning both large and small objects. Please contact us in advance to find out if your part is compatible with our scanner.

Visualization
Needing to share your XR experiences with a group? For all your screencasting needs, we host a wall of 6 65” OLED TVs, a mobile TV equipped for videoconferencing, and a Panasonic overhead projector. Chromecast (4x) and Apple TV (5x) streaming devices are distributed amongst this equipment, ensuring your creations can be shared with a larger audience, regardless of the method.
Software
Our standalone headsets are pre-equipped with a variety of software, enabling immersive 3D creation and collaboration with applications for both productivity and play. The XR Tool Group has experience working with Unity for developing PCVR standalone, Meta Quest, and Microsoft HoloLens applications. We additionally possess knowledge in various CAD software and Blender for cleaning up 3D scans.
