The Invention Studio is the nation's premier volunteer student run makerspace housed within the School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. The Summer Internship is designed to inspire and empower interns by providing them with hands-on engineering activities, and meaningful interactions with distinguished Georgia Tech students. Some of these activities include training on the following tools: 3D Printer, Waterjet, Welding, Electronics Circuit, Embroidery Machine and more!
Program Dates & Times: The program will take place on weekdays from 10am-3pm from June 11th to July 23rd, 2024.
Eligibility: Underrepresented high school students as well as transfer students to GT from HBCUs
Application Process: Submit this form before April 11.
Lunch, shirts, and all supplies and materials are included. Transportation is not provided.
Open to HBCU students transferring into Georgia Tech and Underrepresented High School Students of any year.
Yes, closed toed shoes are required, and if you have long hair or hanging jewelry, you will be required to have it up or tied/clipped back on certain programming days as it can be caught on certain machinery.
There is no GPA requirement.

The nearest MARTA stop is the Midtown Marta Station. Once you’re there you can take the Stinger Bus (Georgia Tech Bus) to the Kendeda Building or Ferst Dr and Hemphill Ave. These 2 stops will leave you a short walk away from the Invention Studio.
